The Boston Red Sox have learned from their past mistakes and have locked up starting pitcher Chris Sale. The lanky lefty isn’t going anywhere.

The Boston Red Sox aren’t perfect, no organization is. Hindsight is 20/20 and any fan can admit that the team has made some mistakes in the past. Well the good thing is that the Red Sox have appeared to learn from those errors.

Jon Lester should have stayed with the Boston Red Sox. It is really that simple. Even John Henry admitted that the Red Sox made a mistake.

It looks like the team isn’t making the same mistake with Chris Sale. The starting pitcher’s contract was supposed to expire at the end of the 2019 season, but the Red Sox are being proactive.

The Red Sox have signed Chris Sale to a five year $145 million extension. The lefty has definitely earned it.

Ever since coming to Boston, Sale has delivered. In his first two seasons with the squad, Sale has pitched 372.1 innings, struck out 545 batters, with a 2.56 ERA.

This is good news for Red Sox fans. Sale is clearly your ace. He is a dominant pitcher who can take control of a game. Also this means that basically all your focus can go towards re-signing Mookie Betts.

There is no doubt that Betts is about to get paid. He will probably have one of the largest contracts in MLB history. Mike Trout and Bryce Harper made sure of that.

With Chris Sale here for the near future you have stability and leadership. He will be a leader in the locker room and will be your ace for years to come. Sale seems to be hitting the prime years of his career.
