Even though Rob Gronkowski announced his retirement on Sunday, New England Patriots fans shouldn’t be surprised if he finds his way back on the field.

Sunday was a sad day for New England Patriots fans. We saw one of our favorite players, Rob Gronkowski announce that he had played his final game.

The move makes a lot of sense. Gronkowski has had to deal with a ton of terrible injuries. He needs to focus on his post-football life.

Gronk is also a character. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in a summer blockbuster or find his way into a WWE ring. He has expressed interest in doing so in the past. There are definitely plenty of opportunities for Gronkowski now that he is done with football.

Still maybe Rob Gronkowski isn’t done yet. I may just be in denial, but what if Gronk comes back near the end of the season.

Now I am not the only person to think of this. Former New England Patriot Willie McGinest believes that Rob Gronkowski may come back near the end of the season after retiring.

This makes perfect sense for all sides. Gronkowski would get to rest up and heal after another long season and the New England Patriots would get the best tight end in NFL history on a discount.

Call me selfish, but I would love to see this happen. Gronk would get a heroes welcome. It would be a moment that you had to see to believe.

Also the Patriots could definitely use Gronkowski. Currently, the best tight ends are Matt LaCosse and Jacob Hollister. New England’s offense will look insanely different next season.

Next. Tom Brady giving fans a heart attack. dark

If Rob Gronkowski decides to stay retired I wouldn’t blame him, but if he decided to come back it would be the story of the 2019 season.
