New England Patriots: Team needs Tom Brady at OTA’s now more than ever
By Sam Minton
With the New England Patriots selecting N’Keal Harry in the 1st round, Tom Brady needs to be at OTA’s.
This was supposed to be Tom Brady’s 2nd straight season missing OTA’s but due to the New England Patriots decision to draft N’Keal Harry, Brady needs to be present.
If I was Brady I wouldn’t want to be at OTA’s either. The quarterback has proven that he knows what to do to get himself in shape. Also I can’t blame him for wanting to spend more time with his family. He has given a large chunk of his life to football.

But this year is different. The New England Patriots need him.
New England drafted wide receiver N’Keal Harry in the 1st round of the 2019 NFL Draft. I like this pick as it fills an immediate hole. The Patriots wide receiver corps was looking rather weak. They still may need some work but drafting Harry was a good start.
In order to get the best out of Harry, Tom Brady needs to be at OTA’s. The duo needs to start building chemistry and fast.
Harry isn’t like Braxton Berrios for example. There is no doubt that Harry will be a key part of the Patriots offense in 2019. Right now you could say that he is 3rd on the depth chart.
So it will be interesting to see what Brady decides to do. Surely he knows that Harry is a major piece. Will he come to OTA’s or will he relax until he is forced to report.
If Brady or even Harry struggles at the beginning of season the finger will be pointed at TB12. People will say, “well if he was at training camp that miscommunication wouldn’t have happened.”
So the 2019 season is interesting before it even starts and the question of will Tom Brady report to OTA’s will once again be on the front of all New England Patriots fans minds
