Brad Marchand has struggled in the Stanley Cup Finals and it isn’t the first time he has struggled in the finals for the Boston Bruins.

If you just look at Brad Marchand’s postseason stats you would think that he was playing great by watching him on the ice you see that isn’t the case. Marchand has struggled mightily for the Boston Bruins so far in the Stanley Cup Final.

Game 2 was an abysmal one for Marchand. He failed to get anything going offensively and is responsible for the game-tying goal. If it wasn’t for Marchand’s poor defense let Vladimir Tarasenko easily get the rebound.

Marchand‘s only goal was an empty netter and he has a personal rating of -2. The Bruins need Marchand and the first line to get on the stat sheet in a positive manner.

Historically Marchand hasn’t been amazing in the Stanley Cup Finals. In 2013 against the Chicago Blackhawks, Marchand didn’t rack up any points and had a rating of -3.

There is no doubt that Marchand is a great player both in the regular season and in the postseason. He is one of the franchise’s best goal scores, but when it comes to the Stanley Cup Finals he falls apart.

The Boston Bruins first line hasn’t let us down yet. I believe that they will figure things out, but if Brad Marchand does continue to struggle it will leave a black mark on his legacy.

Marchand will be looked at as a choke artist instead of a great goal scorer. With all the amazing accomplishments Marchand has on his resume, that would be a tragedy.
