It is clear after the Boston Bruins 2nd game against the Washington Capitals this season that Brad Marchand and Lars Eller don’t like each other.

The Boston Bruins lost to the Washington Capitals once again on Thursday night. I swear there is a force field around the net when Boston plays the Caps.

The game was the type of game that hardcore hockey fans loved. It was filled with quality hits and some great scoring. We even saw Alex Ovechkin drill Zdeno Chara into the boards. I couldn’t believe my eyes.

Overall there was one pair of players that showed that their rivalry is just beginning. My oh my do Lars Eller and Brad Marchand hate each other.

More from Chowder and Champions

It all started in the Boston Bruins season opener when Lars Eller decided to showboat in front of the Bruins bench after scoring the 7th goal of the game. Buddy act like you been there before.

Brad Marchand clearly didn’t like it because he dropped the gloves with Eller later in the game. It was one hell of a bout for Marchand who cracked Eller open like a Danish pastry.

It appeared that Eller still wasn’t happy about that as he went after Marchand and dropped the gloves but Marchand was having none of it. The Bruins had just come off a penalty kill and were down a goal not exactly the best time to fight.

Eller wasn’t particularly pleased and said that “everybody saw what he is” when asked about the fight.

Dude, you lost a fight get over it. It happens all the time. Also why on Earth would Marchand drop the gloves and take himself off the ice. If he did it would be a major victory for the Capitals.

Marchand has 16 goals and 31 assists this season. That is a pretty good season. Lars Eller has 5 goals and 14 assists. I think plenty of people will be remembering Brad Marchand’s name in the future while Lars Eller will be quickly forgotten. It seems like Marchand realizes this as well.

I’m pretty sure this rivalry is just getting started and I personally can’t wait. Brad Marchand is the best chirper in the game so this should be fun.

The Bruins next matchup isn’t that far away. Boston heads to the nation’s capital early on in February. That game will definitely be one you want to watch.

Next. Don't vote for Patrice Bergeron. dark

As much as I love this rivalry I really just hope that the Boston Bruins can end their brutal 14 game losing streak against the Washington Capitals.
