Boston Celtics rumors: Tyler Herro could light up Boston
By Sam Minton
Tyler Herro’s draft stock has skyrocketed and his shooting prowess could land him on the Boston Celtics.
The Boston Celtics haven’t had a legendary shooter in a long time. Guys like Kyrie Irving can be relied upon to make shots, but Boston could use a true sniper from 3 point range.
That is where Kentucky’s Tyler Herro comes in. He could be the shooter that Boston has been looking for.

Herro only averaged 14 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. That isn’t exactly amazing, but Herro has found a way to increase his stock.
Herro’s performance in pre-draft workouts have made him seem like a quality player. In Boston Herro hit 80 out of 100 3 pointers.
The stunning thing is that Herro wasn’t an amazing 3 point shooter in college. At Kentucky he had a 3 point percentage of 35.5 percent.
Now Herro’s great performance was in a workout which is completely different than a game, but that is still impressive.
The Boston Celtics could definitely use a spot shooter. Herro may not be Ray Allen, but he could flourish under Brad Stevens. He brings the best out of everyone.
Boston wouldn’t be wasting an early 1st round pick on Herro either. He will probably fall to the Celtics late in the first round.
The Celtics have a quality young group of players. Herro wouldn’t need to produce right away. Boston could stash him and build up his skills.
Brad Stevens is a defensive mastermind. He was able to make Kyrie Irving a strong defender which seemed rather impossible.
I think that Herro could become a quality member of the Celtics 2nd unit. If Herro could come into a game and make a few 3 pointers it would change the momentum of games. That is the benefit of having a knockdown 3 point shooter in your rotation.
So we will have to wait and see if Herro will be lighting up Boston this Fall.
