New England Patriots rumors: Tom Brady hinting at retirement
By Sam Minton
In one of his latest Instagram posts, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady may have indicated that the 2019 season will be his last.
I can’t imagine a day when Tom Brady isn’t the quarterback for the New England Patriots. He has basically been the star of the team for my entire life.
But one day Brady will have to retire. It is as likely as the sun rising in the morning.

In the past Brady has mentioned that he wants to play until he is 45. If anyone can do it, it is Tom Brady. He has thrown for over 4,000 yards in the last two seasons since turning 40.
Somehow Brady has been able to defy time. A player of his age shouldn’t be performing this well. Peyton Manning didn’t even play until he was 40 and he looked like a shell of himself before he retired.
Even though Brady mentioned that he wants to play until he is 45, I found one of his latest Instagram posts rather interesting.
The caption is the main thing that sticks out. “Treat my first like my last, and my last like my first!” Now this may just be a Jay-Z lyric, but using the word last seems to indicate some finality to some situation.
Maybe Brady is considering retiring at the end of this season?
Imagine if New England is somehow able to repeat as Super Bowl champions. First off that would be awesome, but Brady would only strengthen his argument for being the best quarterback ever.
If Brady won 7 Super Bowls you could start making the debate that he is the greatest athlete of all time. Michael Jordan doesn’t have 7 rings.
Tom Brady really has nothing else to prove. He only continues to play because he loves the game of football and strives to forever be the best player in NFL history.
