Boston Celtics Rumors: Al Horford takes his championship dreams to Philly
By Sam Minton
The Boston Celtics fiercest rivals are the Philadelphia 76ers and the rivalry will only heat up now that Al Horford is in Philly.
When the news came out that Al Horford was leaving the Boston Celtics it was bittersweet, but Horford was still in Boston’s good graces. Now that may have changed.
Horford was one of the most beloved players in Boston. He is a guy that you want to have in your locker room. There is no greater example of how a player should conduct themselves in the NBA.

He may not have been the flashiest of players, but Horford did all of the little things well. For his size, he was a great facilitator and locked down some of the NBA’s best big men.
With all that in mind, Boston Celtics fans were hoping that he could land himself on a contender and potentially get himself the long-awaited ring he deserves. Now it will be hard to root for Horford.
Horford decided to go to the dark side. He is now a member of the Philadelphia 76ers.
There were two teams that Horford couldn’t go to. If he went to the LA Lakers fans probably wouldn’t have been pleased and then there was the 76ers.
The 76ers are the Boston Celtics biggest rivals in the East. Boston has dominated them these last few seasons, but they have had some heated battles.
Now Horford will be competing fiercely against the Celtics in the Eastern Conference. It’s going to be really hard to root for Horford when Boston and Philly are battling for the best playoff spot.
I don’t think we will be expecting boos to rain down whenever Al Horford does return to Boston. He should get a nice video tribute, but why did you have to go to Philly Al?
Horford is basically the Johnny Damon of the NBA. He jumped from one side of a major rivalry to another.
Celtics fans are glad to see you get paid Al, but now that you are a 76er I can only wish you nothing but failure.
