Xander Bogaerts has been one of the lone bright spots for the Boston Red Sox this season and his performance deserves national attention.

There is no sugarcoating it. This Boston Red Sox season has been a disappointment, but one player is making the most out of a bad situation.

The Boston Red Sox showed their commitment to Xander Bogaerts in the offseason. Boston signed him to a 6-year deal worth $120 million.

More from Chowder and Champions

So far in 2019, Bogaerts has been amazing. So far he has a .317 batting average with 25 home runs and 81 RBIs.

Bogaerts has been a beast at the plate. He is one of the few players that the Red Sox can rely on to consistently bring in runs.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bogaerts reach at least 30 home runs and 100 RBIs. 2019 will far and away be the best season of his career.

If it wasn’t for one player we would probably be seeing Bogaerts get some major MVP love. Mike Trout continues to be the greatest baseball player on planet Earth. He leads the AL in WAR, walks, RBIs, and home runs.

Trout truly does it all and will probably win another MVP this season. He might not be the personality that the MLB wants, but we are watching the Michael Jordan of baseball dominate in his prime. Imagine if he was actually on a winning team?

Still, Bogaerts is having an amazing season. He easily could have phoned it in when the team was struggling but he kept on grinding.

Bogaerts could one day be the face of the Boston Red Sox. Mookie Betts may head to more expensive pasture’s and Bogaerts is one of the Red Sox’s brightest and youngest stars.

If it wasn’t for Xander Bogaerts fantastic season, the Boston Red Sox could be in a much deeper and depressing hole.
