By Sam Minton
Jayson Tatum has been pretty spectacular for the Boston Celtics but the young star has some lofty goals for his career.
Last season may not have gone as planned for the Boston Celtics and Jayson Tatum, but that isn’t stopping them from looking ahead.

We saw how important chemistry was last season. Kyrie Irving didn’t fit in with Boston and it was the downfall of the squad.
Now after Tatum’s amazing rookie season he appeared to be the next star for the Celtics. Fans were expecting an All-Star appearance and some hardware in his 2nd year.
Even though Tatum didn’t reach those goals he did have a quality season. He improved his points per game, even though it seemed like he didn’t have the ball in his hands as much.
Celtics fans still believe that Tatum can be a special player. He could be the face of the franchise for a long time.
Well, Tatum believes that he can be more than just a star in Boston. He is striving to be known as one of the best players to play in the NBA.
If Tatum puts in the work he could definitely be a top 5 player. He is a great scorer and if he has the ball in his hands more this season he could do some damage. His ability to drive to the rim can make him unstoppable at times.
The one thing that Tatum needs to work on is his shot selection. After working out with Kobe Bryant in the offseason before the 2018-19 season it seemed like may have adopted Bryant’s style of play a bit too much.
This season will be a test for Jayson Tatum. We will need to see an increase in his scoring output if he truly wants to become an elite player in the NBA.
