ESPN thinks that N’Keal Harry won’t have 50 catches, but the wide receiver will be a major part of the New England Patriots offense.

There has been a ton of hype over N’Keal Harry. The rookie has been impressive at New England Patriots training camp.

All signs point to Harry being an important part of the Patriots offense. The status of Josh Gordon is still up in the air and Demaryius Thomas will start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

This means that Harry will be the Patriots best deep threat. The rookie can use his size and athleticism to rise above defenders and make some big plays.

For some reason, ESPN doesn’t have the same opinion about the rookie. Mike Reiss believes that the New England Patriots system isn’t made for success.

But N’Keal Harry is a special rookie. He is the first wide receiver that Bill Belichick has selected in the first round of the NFL draft.

Early on in the season, Harry should get a decent amount of targets. If he plays well Tom Brady will continue to target him even when Thomas returns. If Harry is able to gain Brady’s trust he will be golden.

It seemed like the passing game was in a state of limbo for the 2019 season. With Rob Gronkowski no longer on the team, it seemed like the Patriots may focus on the running game a bit more.

Now obviously I still expect Sony Michel to get a good chunk of carries, but New England won’t be shy about throwing the ball. Expect to see Brady causing chaos from the shotgun.

So I expect N’Keal Harry to eclipse 50 receptions and be a major part of the New England Patriots offense. Maybe he will even be the Rookie of the Year?
