The Boston Red Sox are in a troubling place and the front office is showing how disconnected they are to the fanbase.

One would think that the Boston Red Sox’s season couldn’t get any worse. Obviously, they missed the playoffs, but even after the season they continue to make mistakes.

The Red Sox are in a tough place. It looks like J.D. Martinez might have played his last game as a Red Sox as he has a chance to opt-out of his contract. Why would he come back to the team after seeing how much the team struggled in 2019.

Also one of the reasons that the Red Sox look like they are in trouble is because it is unlikely that they re-sign Mookie Betts. Betts is primed to get a major pay raise and with the Red Sox announcing plans to cut down their spending, I don’t think he will be getting that in Boston.

So clearly things aren’t alright in Boston. The team will either lose a generational talent that they grew in their own farm system or they will bring him back and still have to fight for a playoff spot.

The plan to cut spending makes no sense after this season. Why would you do this when clearly you need more talent.

But the front office wasn’t done yet. They announced that they will be raising ticket prices.

How on Earth can you raise ticket prices after such an awful season? Fans should be getting a refund due to false advertisement of a good team.

I will admit that the Red Sox are one of the cheaper tickets in town. They aren’t good seats, but the get in price is close to 40 dollars. When you compare that to the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots they seem like a bargain.

So hopefully the Red Sox will pay up and re-sign Mookie Betts because if they don’t their wallets might take a hit because no one will want to go to overpriced games filled with less than stellar talent.
