Boston Bruins: Why team is so lucky in goaltending department
By Sam Minton
The Boston Bruins have gotten off to a great start this season and it seems that their goaltenders will carry them for the rest of the year.
So far this season couldn’t be any better for the Boston Bruins. They have played their first two games and they have yet to lose. One of the major reasons that Boston has performed so well is because of their goaltending.
First, we will start with the starter. Tuukka Rask is coming off one of his best seasons. He was dominant in the 2019 postseason and deserved to lift the Stanley Cup but the rest of the team let him down.

Rask has been able to maintain the momentum he built last season and had a great 2019-20 debut. Rask saved 28 shots and secured his first win of the season.
The Bruins didn’t necessarily play a great game on Thursday. They got their scoring out of the way in the first period but after that, they were chasing the Stars. Rask made plenty of clutch saves.
Now we will get to Jaroslav Halak, the backup who could be a starter. You could make a strong argument that Boston’s goaltenders are more important than their first line.
Halak got his first start of the year on Saturday night. He had one hell of a debut. Halak saved 35 shots and recorded his first shutout of the season.
If Halak continues to play this well, Tuukka Rask could be well-rested headed into the playoffs. There is no need to put Rask in there day in and day out. You have full trust that Halak will give your team a chance to win even though he is a backup.
One of the reasons that I am so confident that Boston can end up back in the Stanley Cup Finals is because of their stellar goaltending.
The Boston Bruins by far have the best goaltending duo in the entire NHL.
