Boston Bruins: 3 takeaways from teams 1st loss of 2019
By Sam Minton
The Boston Bruins were undefeated headed into Thursday nights game and sadly that won’t be the case moving forward.
It seemed like the Boston Bruins couldn’t lose. Their top line was scoring and between the pipes they were as solid as a rock.
But eventually they had to lose. No team is going to win every game they play. Boston lost its first game of the season against the Colorado Avalanche 4-2 on Thursday night.

The Avs were definitely a worthy opponent. Besides Boston’s 1st line, Colorado has one of the most dangerous lines in hockey.
Now those 4 goals we seem like a lot but you can’t be mad at Jaroslav Halak. He played an amazing game with over 30 saves.
If it wasn’t for Halak making some spectacular stops the Bruins could have been down by much more.
The Bruins were also coming off a crazy game in Las Vegas. When you combine that with playing in Colorado two days later it was tough to expect perfection. Going 3-1 to start the season is setting the Bruins up for a great season.
Now the Bruins get to rest up a bit and prepare for what should be an entertaining home opener. The New Jersey Devils and P.K. Subban will be trying to rain on Boston’s parade.
But sadly we have to talk about the Bruins losing so here are the 3 takeaways from Boston’s first loss of the season.
