It seems like the New England Patriots are continuing to limit Michael Bennett’s playing time which makes zero sense.

When the New England Patriots signed Michael Bennett I was pumped. He is an amazing pass rusher who could only boost the Pats defensive line.

But Bennett hasn’t gotten a chance to show how great of a player he is. His playing time only seems to be decreasing more and more every game.

This is quite shocking seeing that he was supposed to be the replacement for Trey Flowers. If he was on New England’s roster last season he would have led the team in sacks.

In New England’s 1st game of the season he had over 37 plays. Last week he was on the field for 11 plays.

With such a drastic drop off this has unsurprisingly angered Bennett. He is now suspended for the Patriots game against the New York Jets because he was arguing with coaches.

Now obviously you would like Bennett to keep his cool but he is rightfully mad. Even though some young players are having great seasons there is no reason for Bennett to be playing so little.

There is no doubt that Chase Winovich, Deatrich Wise, and John Simon are playing great but there is no reason that Bennett shouldn’t be getting 20 plus snaps a game.

Even with his limited amount of playing time he is still one of the best defensive linemen on the roster. A couple more sacks and he could be leading the team.

The Patriots acquired Bennett in the offseason for a reason. They wanted him to be dominant and make life easier for the Patriots secondary. Having Bennett waste away on the sidelines does no one any good.

So hopefully the New England Patriots will start to give Michael Bennett some more playing time sooner rather than later.
