Demaryius Thomas wasn’t happy about his time with the New England Patriots and you can’t really blame him. It was a waste of time for everyone involved.

The New England Patriots took a chance on Demaryius Thomas. They wanted to see if he had any gas left in the tank. Seeing that they traded him to the New York Jets I think it’s fair to say that they weren’t impressed.

When the Patriots acquired Thomas I wasn’t that ecstatic. He was coming off an injury and he isn’t the same player that he was in Denver.

The fact that Thomas was traded to the Jets shows just how poorly the Patriots think of him. They traded him in the division.

Thomas wasn’t happy with how the Patriots handled things and you can’t really blame him.

"“It was insulting, for sure,” Thomas said. “Once I got cut, I could have just come here (to the Jets) and not stayed there and re-sign. When they re-signed me, I was thinking that I was good. Two weeks later, I was gone. So, it’s like, ‘Why did I waste my time?’ Because at the end of the day, it was kind of a waste of time for me. ”"

After getting cut the first time I thought there was no way that Thomas would be coming back. It just looked like there wasn’t a spot for him on the roster.

When the Patriots decided to acquire Antonio Brown it ensured that Thomas couldn’t come back. Still, I would have cut Thomas even if the Patriots roster was the same. Guys like N’Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers need time to grow. You can’t do that when you are sitting on the bench.

Best case scenario Thomas impresses but he would only be with the team for a season or two. If Harry and Meyers are able to do well they will set the Patriots up for the next decade.

So Demaryius Thomas is right. His time in New England was pretty wasteful, but it wasn’t just for him. The Patriots got their time wasted by a mediocre receiver. He should be happy that he is on a new team and able to be a starter.
