New England Patriots: Why team should have kept Jacob Hollister
By Sam Minton
The New England Patriots traded Jacob Hollister in the offseason for next to nothing and it seems like the team could have used his production this season.
This week New England Patriots fans got to relax. The team was on a bye and we got to watch the rest of the NFL play.
The highlight of the week came on Monday night when the Seattle Seahawks defeated the last undefeated team in the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers.

Patriots fans will have noticed a familiar face running around the field. Jacob Hollister was a star for the Seahawks something we didn’t see in New England.
The main reason for this was injuries. It seemed like Hollister couldn’t pay to stay on the field. In 2 seasons with the Patriots he only recorded 8 catches for 94 yards.
You can’t really blame New England for getting rid of Hollister. Even though they only got a 7th round pick in return.
These last 2 weeks Hollister has been one of the best tight ends in all of the NFL. in 2 games he has 12 catches for 3 touchdowns.
Now I don’t know about you but the New England Patriots could have used a guy like Hollister on the roster. The Patriots are struggling at the tight end position.
Without Rob Gronkowski, the Patriots have little to no production at tight end. Matt LaCosse and Ryan Izzo haven’t been lighting the world on fire.
The Patriots have been forced to rely on Julian Edelman and James White to do a lot of scoring for the team. New England needs a more balanced offense in the 2nd half of the season.
So it might just be looking back but it seems like the Patriots should have held on to Jacob Hollister. Imagine what he could have done with Tom Brady this season. A healthy Hollister could have had a career year this season in New England.
