Travis Shaw is now a free agent and the Boston Red Sox should try and get him back on the team.

There is no doubt that the Boston Red Sox could always use a power left-handed hitter. With Pesky Pole so short you can hit a home run with ease.

That’s what earned Travis Shaw his nickname. Thanks to Jared Carrabis the 3rd basemen got called “The Mayor of Ding-Dong City.”

Even though he had a rather successful tenure with the Milwaukee Brewers, Shaw wasn’t tendered and is now a free agent.

The Boston Red Sox might be able to get Shaw for a bargain. Last season wasn’t anything spectacular. He only played in 86 games and had a batting average of .157.

Now if the Red Sox were going to acquire Shaw he wouldn’t be playing his normal position of third base. I would expect the Red Sox to trot him out at 1st base. Shaw would be quite the upgrade from Mitch Moreland

Shaw is much younger and is a better overall player in this man’s opinion. I would love to have him back in Boston.

The Red Sox roster could be undergoing a lot of change. Mookie Betts‘ status is up in the air. It looks like the two sides aren’t going to come to an agreement before the 2020 season starts.

This might force Boston’s hand and make them trade Betts so they at least get something in return. You don’t want to lose such a talented player and get nothing.

Bringing Travis Shaw back would bring a fan favorite back home which would make fans happy. The Red Sox organization might already be making moves to prepare for life after Mookie Betts. Bringing Shaw back could keep fans from going completely insane when that happens.

No matter what it would be awesome if Shaw would come back to Boston.
