Boston Red Sox fans have been worried about losing Mookie Betts but it looks like he will at least be staying for the 2020 season

It might just be delaying the inevitable but it looks like Mookie Betts isn’t going anywhere in 2020. Boston Red Sox fans are rejoicing everywhere.

Betts is getting ready for a major payday. He will become a free agent for the first time at the end of the 2020 season.

With the Red Sox announcing that they were cutting payroll it seemed like Betts was as good as gone. That might not be the case though.

Due to Betts’ upcoming free agency, teams aren’t willing to pay for him. Why spend the extra money and prospects when you can get him next year.

Betts is one of the best players in the entire MLB. There is no doubt that the Red Sox are going to want a massive return if they are going to trade him.

Luckily according to Bob Nightengale, it looks like you can count on Mookie Betts staying in Boston.

The Boston Red Sox will definitely need Betts this season. Coming off one of their most disappointing seasons in recent history they need to come back with a bang.

If Betts can return to MVP form the Sox should win the AL East. With Betts heading into free agency he will have a ton of motivation as well. If Betts is in Boston I would expect a great season from him.

No matter if Mookie Betts is on the team or not the Red Sox need to perform much better in the 2020 season. If Boston misses the playoffs once again I think there might be riots in the street.
