New England Patriots NFL Draft 2020: Jake Fromm best fit for offense
By Sam Minton
The New England Patriots need an intelligent QB if they want to draft a replacement for Tom Brady. Jake Fromm sounds like the perfect fit.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the New England Patriots drafted a quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft. Especially with Tom Brady’s status up in the air.
The Patriots need an intelligent quarterback who can work well in the pocket. Arm strength isn’t necessarily a focal point, but accuracy is what New England’s offense is all about.

This makes me think that Jake Fromm would be the perfect pick for the Patriots.
Fromm had a consistent career at Georgia. Last season he threw for 2,860 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. But Fromm’s best attributes aren’t shown in the box score.
Now unlike some QB’s in this year’s draft, Fromm isn’t a physical freak. He doesn’t have an insane arm and isn’t going to be the next Lamar Jackson.
But Fromm is intelligent which makes him an intriguing option for the Patriots. There is no hiding that the New England Patriots have a complicated offense. They need a rookie QB who can handle that and make the right plays.
Fromm is projected to be a Day 2 selection which works perfectly for the Patriots. They have multiple 3rd round picks so if they wanted to move up they could.
No matter if Brady is with the team or not I think Fromm would be a good selection. Once Brady does decide to call it a career I would be confident that Fromm could do a decent job. Especially with a season or two under Brady’s wing.
So Fromm is definitely a guy that Patriots fans should keep an eye on. He might not get the love that guys like Joe Burrow get but he is definitely one of the best quarterbacks in the 2020 NFL Draft.
