New England Patriots: Stay far away from Andy Dalton
By Sam Minton
The New England Patriots are looking for a new quarterback but thankfully those plans don’t involve Andy Dalton.
So here we are. The New England Patriots are without a starting quarterback and there’s no timetable for when they will name a starter.
Now the Patriots have plenty of options. They can trade for a veteran quarterback, sign a free agent, or take a QB in the draft.

There is also the option of sticking with the best quarterback on the roster currently, Jarrett Stidham. New England might not have expected it to happen so quickly, but they must have thought he could become a starter eventually. If not why would you even draft him?
But there has been one quarterback who was linked with the Patriots who made fans want to pull their hair out, Andy Dalton.
Dalton is just a terrible quarterback. If Tom Brady is a human highlight reel, Dalton is a human lowlight reel. Every game Dalton does something that makes zero sense.
In his career, Dalton has thrown over 100 interceptions and has a career record of 70-61-2. Dalton has also failed to throw for 5,000 yards in his career and has only thrown for 4,000 yards two times in his career.
If Dalton ended up being Tom Brady’s replacement I don’t know if I would even be able to watch games. Human eyes can only take so much damage. Bill Belichick would have to be on an egotrip to sign him.
Thankfully that won’t be the case as Jeff Howe is reporting Dalton isn’t in New England’s plans.
So it sure seems like the Patriots will be staying with Stidham in 2020. It would save them some money and lead to them probably getting a favorable draft position.
But no matter who is at quarterback next season it will be infinite times better than having to watch Andy Dalton in a Patriots uniform.
