New England Patriots: 7 best players Tom Brady threw TD’s to over his career
Julian Edelman
Julian Edelman has been with the New England Patriots since 2009 when the team drafted him in the seventh-round out of Kent State. Edelman became the most all around and complete football player the Patriots have had since Troy Brown. Edelman has done it all for Bill Belichick and the Patriots and is continuing to do so going into his 11th season with the team.
Edelman had the luxury of watching the success between Tom Brady and Wes Welker during the start of his career and was able to learn the expectations of being a slot receiver for Brady.
When Welker left in 2013, Edelman stepped up and produced his first season over 1,000 yards in his career and scored six touchdowns.
Ever since then, Edelman and Brady started working together in the off season and became best friends along the way.
In doing so, Edelman became a master technician of the New England Patriots playbook and an expert route runner for Brady. Edelman currently ranks fourth all-time in franchise history with 6,507 yards, and ninth all-time in franchise history with 36 receiving touchdowns.
He also ranks third all-time in kick/punt return yards with 1,986 yards for four touchdowns, which is the most in franchise history.
Edelman is a three-time Super Bowl champion, winning one Super Bowl MVP along the way, and has caught 36 regular season touchdowns and five postseason touchdowns from Tom Brady.
