The New England Patriots will have to entice Tom Brady to stay and getting Odell Beckham Jr. would do the trick.

Getting Tom Brady to return to the New England Patriots has proven to be a much greater challenge than we expected.

This offseason has been exhausting to say the least. One day it will seem like Brady is re-signing with the team and the next it will feel like he is as good as gone. No matter the result I can’t wait for the Brady saga to be over.

There is definitely one way to make sure Brady stays in New England. The Patriots need to get him a weapon in the passing game. Not just any player, a pro bowl caliber wide receiver.

New England’s offense can’t rely solely on Julian Edelman. The loss of Rob Gronkowski was major but I don’t think we expected the offense to struggle as much as they did.

One player could definitely insert some life into New England’s offense. Instead of signing a free agent they should go after someone who can make a difference. They should go after Odell Beckham Jr.

At one point Beckham was one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, but these last few years haven’t been so kind to him.

Beckham still has been a beast on the field. He has never dipped below 1,000 receiving yards in a season when he is healthy. Even when he only plays 12 games he is still over 1,000 yards.

The problem for OBJ is off the field. Whether it be his antics on the sidelines or in the media Beckham can make life hard for his teammates.

Who can forget how Beckham was reportedly telling opposing players to “come get him” and take him off the Cleveland Browns?

It might cost the Patriots draft pick but I don’t even think it would be a first or second round pick. Going after OBJ would be viewed more as a risk so you might actually be able to get the wideout for a third round pick as well as other assets.

If the Patriots were to acquire Beckham that would give Tom Brady an amazing pass catcher. How could he walk away from New England then?

So I hope to see the Patriots go after Odell Beckham Jr. because that will mean Tom Brady is still on the team.
