Boston Bruins: Jeremy Jacobs should sell team
By Sam Minton
The Boston Bruins have treated their employees horribly since the NHL season has been postponed and their latest move is the worst to date.
The Boston Bruins have become the New York Knicks of the NHL. Wow, that is a sentence I never thought I would be writing.
With the NHL and the rest of the world on lockdown we have seen the true colors of some owners. Some are choosing to be kind and heartfelt by doing a simple thing. Paying your employees that work at your arena.

It isn’t a difficult thing to do. These people are human beings who had no control over what has happened. It is such a PR layup to ensure that these people are paid and are not left hanging during this trying time.
But the Boston Bruins failed to do that. Jeremy Jacobs, a man worth over $3 Billion didn’t want to write that check. He had to be publicly shamed into paying his arena employees and he didn’t even really do that. He wasn’t going to pay them until the NHL canceled the final games of the regular season.
That’s not all folks. Things somehow got much, much worse. As we all found out on Wednesday, Jacobs had decided to lay these employees off. Now instead of having a job an not being paid, these employees don’t have a job at all.
I mean this is just despicable. How can any human being do this? This was such an easy PR move to make yourself look good. If they paid their employees it would be a drop in the bucket for Jacobs.
The rest of the NHL and basically the entire sports world is looking at the Bruins with disgust and I can’t blame them. It’s a rough time to be a B’s fan now.
It’s on the fans to show their disgust for Jacobs and ownership. The only true way to make an impact is to hit him where it hurts.
People aren’t going to stop going to games. It’s unfair to expect them to. One suggestion online has been to not buy concessions since Jacobs owns the company that operates in TD Garden. Concessions workers do accept tips so if you directly want to show your gratitude stop by and throw some cash in the tip jar.
I wish Jacobs would just sell the team. He has continuously been cutting corners and has cast a black eye over the team. Bruins fans deserve better.
