New England Patriots: Jarrett Stidham gets more praise
By Sam Minton
A former Auburn teammate talked about what makes Jarrett Stidham so special and New England Patriots fans will be excited with what he had to say.
We don’t really know a lot about Jarrett Stidham. New England Patriots fans weren’t expecting him to be starting so soon, but with Tom Brady gone, Stidham seems to be the leader in the locker room for the starting job.
Patriots fans haven’t gotten the chance to watch Stidham a lot. We saw him in the preseason and that was really it.

So once Tom Brady announced he was leaving New England, Patriots fans have been craving information on what we should expect in 2020.
Teammates like Devin McCourty and Stephon Gilmore have praised Stidham as well as QB guru Jordan Palmer.
The latest person to praise Stidham is former Auburn teammate and now New York Giants receiver Darius Slayton. He didn’t hold back and it seems like the Patriots have a quality player.
"“The arm and all that stuff, you know, that’s all God-given. He’s got that already. I think the separator that makes Tom Brady great is putting the time in and having the knowledge, and I think Jarrett is cut from that same kind of cloth.”"
It’s too early to say that Stidham will definitely be a star. The man hasn’t even started an NFL game yet, but New England Patriots fans shouldn’t be punting on this season. I wouldn’t be surprised if New England finds a way into the playoffs.
Stidham’s arm has been receiving a lot of praise and I think will be a key part of New England’s offense. Of course the Patriots offense will be much more balanced, but Stidham’s arm will open up the playbook. New England won’t have to dink and dunk because they have an aging QB whose arm is fading.
But at the end of the day, it is Stidham’s intelligence that will allow him to succeed. He needs to make the right throws and not take too many unwarranted risks. New England’s offense in 2020 will have to be precise and deliberate. I wouldn’t expect too many trick plays next season.
So time will tell just how good of a quarterback Jarrett Stidham will become but he might surprise some people in 2020.
