New England Patriots: Why team will be fine without crowds
By Sam Minton
With it being highly unlikely that fans will be in the stands for the start of the 2020 NFL season, some are wondering if this would hurt the New England Patriots. New England will do just fine without a crowd.
This is something we have known for a while. It is highly unlikely that New England Patriots fans will be crowding Gillette Stadium when the 2020 NFL season begins.
The world is not ready for us to squeeze 60,000 people into a stadium. That day will come, but it will take a lot of hard work and patience.

So how will this affect the team? There is no doubt that a rocking Gillette Stadium can be quite the home-field advantage. Patriots fans can make life difficult for visiting teams.
But the Patriots will do just fine without players and there might even be some advantages to the situation.
First off this will keep the pressure off of Jarrett Stidham. Patriots fans know that there will be a drop off from Tom Brady but with no fans, Stidham doesn’t have to worry about the boo birds making an appearance.
Stidham doesn’t need to make amazing plays right off the bat. He can focus on getting his feet wet and building momentum for what will hopefully be a great start to his career.
Also if the Patriots don’t have fans that means the rest of the NFL will be playing in empty stadiums as well. With Stidham and co. having a key game against the Kansas City Chiefs within the first 4 weeks of the season this would have a major impact.
The Chiefs are known for having one of the loudest stadiums in the entire NFL. Having no fans there would make life a whole lot easier for Stidham.
So even though I bet the New England Patriots will miss the joy of playing in front of their beloved fans, it might actually help them out.
