David Pastrnak was honored in the Czech Republic and the Boston Bruins are lucky to have such a talented player.

We all know how talented David Pastrnak is. Boston Bruins fans love Pasta. He has been the best player for the team this season.

Pastrnak was honored already for his performance during the 2019-20 season. He will be sharing the Richard Trophy with Alex Ovechkin.

More from Chowder and Champions

This season was a special one for Pastrnak. We know the scoring ability that he has but usually it comes in streaks. This season he was much more consistent. Pastrnak finished the regular season with 48 goals and 47 assists. Imagine what that number would have been if a full regular season was played.

But the honors aren’t stopping for Pastrnak. He was recently named the best player in the Czech Republic. This isn’t Pasta’s 1st time winning the award either, it’s actually his 4th… in a row. This puts him in some elite company.

Jaromir Jagr is the only player to win the award 4 straight times. If anyone can beat the record I think it’s Pastrnak.

Pastrnak is an elite goal scorer, especially on the powerplay. He is absolutely deadly from the circle and has a killer slap shot.

Also, Pastrnak is trending upwards. I think the best is yet to come from him. He is still only 24 years old.

There is also another thing to consider. Pastrnak still has something to prove. He didn’t even reach 100 points this season due to the regular season being cut short.

So even though we are focused right now on the Bruins Stanley Cup chances we can look slightly ahead to next season.  I think Pastrnak will put up even better numbers next season. If he does he will dethrone Jagr (at least in the award category).

Pastrnak has the potential to become a legend in the NHL. It seems that he already is in Boston. All Pastrnak needs is to add a Stanley Cup to his resume.

Next. Hockey is back in Boston. dark

Hopefully, he and the Boston Bruins will do that in 2020.
