New England Patriots rumors: Terrelle Pryor would be interesting pickup
By Sam Minton
The New England Patriots now have some cap space and they could use it on bringing in another wideout for Cam Newton.
For a while, the New England Patriots had no money to spend. It looked like they would enter the 2020 season with a similar roster, especially at wide receiver.
But now things have changed for the team. Grievances with Aaron Hernandez and Antonio Brown have been settled and New England now has almost eight million dollars in cap space.

New England can make some major changes. They can get Cam Newton another target in Terrelle Pryor.
Pryor is currently a free agent after spending some time with the Jaguars in the preseason. The quarterback wideout has had an interesting career in the NFL.
In 2016 Pryor had an amazing season with the Browns. He had 77 catches for 1,007 yards and 4 touchdowns.
It appears that the Patriots are interested in the wide receiver as they have been in contact. Pryor also seems intrigued to get the opportunity to play with Newton.
"“Those two are very intriguing,” Pryor said, via TMZ Sports. “Especially Cam (Newton). I’ve been a big fan of him throughout the years … And, obviously, Big Ben, that’s my hometown of Pittsburgh, so that’s just two teams that I really want to play for.”"
Pryor seems to be a perfect wideout for Newton. Standing at 6’4″ he is another big target that Newton can throw to.
The Patriots offense will look much different in 2020. The RPO style of offense will likely be used and with Newton’s deep ball ability Pryor would be a great addition.
Newton has the strength but sometimes his accuracy can be lacking. That’s why having receivers such as Mohamed Sanu, N’Keal Harry, and possibly Pryor should get Patriots fans excited about the possibilities.
Still, the Patriots could probably acquire Pryor for cheap money. He hasn’t played in the regular season since 2018 and his last few seasons weren’t all that special. This has the makings of being another deal that the NFL regrets. New England once again has the chance to turn trash into treasure.
