With Jarrett Stidham getting hurt, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has no choice but to start Cam Newton.

This has been an interesting week for the New England Patriots. The media was down at Training Camp and the biggest question was who would start for the team in the regular season.

By the end of the week, it seems that Bill Belichick doesn’t even have a decision to make. It’s clear who will be starting.

Even though Jarrett Stidham had been struggling to throw the ball, it could just be shaking the rust off since Training Camp just began. He still had the experience advantage over Newton when it comes to New England’s offense.

Also, Stidham did look capable of being a starter when we saw him play in the 2019 preseason.

The latest news isn’t great if you were hoping that Stidham would be the starter for the Patriots come the regular season. We may have an explanation as to why Stidham was performing so poorly.

It appears that Stidham was playing hurt and the injury could have long term ramifications.

The keyword here is that Stidham won’t be 100 percent for multiple weeks. With the regular season rapidly approaching, it seems as though Stidham has lost his shot at the starting job.

It already seemed doubtful that Stidham would win the QB battle, but there is no way that a less than 100 percent Stidham beats out Newton.

Newton is extremely talented. He has the capability to beat the defense with his arm and his feet. The possibilities are endless with Newton at quarterback. It seems as though the Patriots could design some dynamic play-action plays as well as some designed runs.

People forget that Newton was a former MVP. I was stunned when the New England Patriots were able to sign him.

Newton has made it to a Super Bowl before. With Bill Belichick as his head coach, I wouldn’t be surprised if he returned.

so the New England Patriots finally have their starter for the 2020 season and his name is Cam Newton.
