Contain Russell Wilson

If the New England Patriots are going to win they will need to contain Russell Wilson. If they don’t he could tear up the defense and help put up a lot of points.

New England’s pass rush will have to step up. Players like Deatrich Wise, Derek Rivers, Chase Winovich, and John Simon will have to set the edge and keep Wilson in front of them.

If you don’t contain Wilson he will run all over you. Even if he doesn’t run for a first down he can waste time in the backfield extending plays and waiting for his receivers to get open.

Also, Wilson will make you pay if you just simply don’t get any pressure on him. Wilson has a great arm and can take advantage of even the smallest windows. Stephon Gilmore can only stay on top of guys for so long.

So the Patriots front seven needs to step up in Week 2. If they don’t it will be a long night for New England.
