The Boston Celtics were sent home by the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals and Danny Ainge isn’t happy.

A lot of Boston Celtics fans aren’t happy and they have a right to be. The team was knocked out of the playoffs by the Miami Heat and now we are forced to watch the LA Lakers win another championship.

But don’t worry Celtics fans, someone else shares your anger. Danny Ainge isn’t happy about the loss either.

More from Chowder and Champions

For the first time since the C’s were eliminated, Ainge gave his thoughts on the team.

While there were some positives such as it looking like Jayson Tatum will stay with the team, Ainge wasn’t afraid to tell it like it is.

Ainge wasn’t exactly happy about the Celtics losing. It seemed like he expected more from the team.

He talked to 98.5 the Sports Hub’s Toucher and Rich on Thursday.

Ainge isn’t wrong. The Celtics should have won that series. It’s definitely refreshing to hear Ainge admit that the team should have done better.

Boston had the better players. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown should have been able to lead the Celtics to the NBA Finals.

Now to the team’s credit, Ainge said that the Celtics had an injured Kemba Walker. It seems like he was never at 100 percent down in the bubble. This seems to explain why Walker was struggling to score so much.

But at the end of the day, there can’t be any excuses. Even with an unhealthy Walker, this team should have made it to the NBA Finals.

Tatum and Brown need to be able to finish games. This postseason and especially the Eastern Conference Finals showed that they can’t yet. The team lacks that killer instinct to put games away. If they want to win a championship they will need a player they can count on to win games.

With Ainge saying this publicly, one has to think that the message is clear in the Celtics locker room. Boston failed and they need to be better next season.

Next. Getting rid of Marcus Smart won’t solve anything. dark

This will definitely be an interesting offseason for the C’s as fans wait and see what Ainge decides to do.
