Here are five great Boston Celtics predictions for the 2020-21 NBA season.

After the shortest offseason in NBA history, the Boston Celtics tip off their 2021 season tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks.

To get you ready for the season, here are five predictions for the 2021 Boston Celtics.

1. Jaylen Brown will make his first All-Star Game:

Last season, Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum were both All-Stars, while Jaylen Brown narrowly missed the cut.

However, Brown’s numbers weren’t very far off from those of Walker and Tatum. Brown averaged 20.3 points per game in 2020, 3.1 below Tatum, and just 0.1 below Walker. His 2.1 assists per game were less than half of Walker’s 4.8, but just 0.9 below Tatum. And Brown’s 6.4 rebounds per game were actually 2.5 above Walker—although still 0.6 below Tatum.

Given how much Brown has improved over the course of his first four NBA seasons, it’s not hard to envision him taking the next step in 2021. If he does just that, it should be enough from him to earn his first career All-Star selection.

2. Kemba Walker will never be completely healthy in 2021:

It has now been ten months since Kemba Walker’s injury issues in Boston began, and right now, things appear to be trending further in the wrong direction.

Even after essentially two off-seasons in one calendar year and load management during the NBA’s bubble playoffs over the summer, Walker still is a long way from being ready to return.

At this point, it is fair to start wondering whether the injury issues that Walker is dealing with are long-term ones.

Will Walker’s play ever return to its pre-injury levels? It’s hard to know, but at this point, the odds of that happening in 2021 appear slim.
