Boston Bruins: 3 surprises so far this season – No.1: Nick Ritchie

There is no doubt who the biggest surprise of 2021 has been for the Boston Bruins. B’s fans are seeing a Nick Ritchie that they didn’t know existed.

Ritchie has been one of the best goal scorers for the Bruins this season. He has even become a key part of the power play. His net-front presence has been great and he also isn’t afraid to operate in the corners.

So far this season, Ritchie has four goals and five assists. He is a top-five scorer for Boston. No one could have expected that out of him.

Ritchie was another player who many thought didn’t deserve to be in the lineup. With Boston’s new youth movement why not make room for guys like Frederic, Anders Bjork, and Jack Studnicka?

But Ritchie has been playing great and seems like he could be a key part of the third line. Hopefully, he will continue to put the puck in the net at this rate.

So while the Bruins season has just started, there have been plenty of surprises so far in 2021. If  Boston continues to play this well one thing that won’t be surprising is the team lifting the Stanley Cup at the end of the season.
