With David Pastrnak likely to miss the start of the regular season, the Boston Bruins should put Jack Studnicka on the top line.

The Boston Bruins starting lineup will look a lot different in 2021. There will be plenty of fresh faces and Bruce Cassidy will definitely have some interesting decisions to be made. One of those should be moving Jack Studnicka to the top line.

While the Bruins lost a lot of players from their defensive unit, they also have some injuries to deal with. Fans got some positive news on Friday about Brad Marchand, but it seems like David Pastrnak will miss the start of the season. This opens up a start on the top line.

Now there are many options for Pasta’s temporary replacement but Boston should entrust Studnicka with the increased role. He has shown what he can do down in Providence now it’s time to see what he can do in the big league.

After the departure of Zdeno Chara, it’s clear that Boston wants to get younger. They want to see what their draft picks are capable of doing.

Studnicka has been a hyped prospect for a while now. It’s time to see if he has the ability and potential to be a top-six forward.

Even though he hasn’t played a ton of games in the NHL, Studnicka has shown that he can perform down in the AHL. Last season in 60 games, Studnicka scored 23 goals and 26 assists.IF he can have similar numbers in the NHL, Bruins fans will be very happy with him.

It’s clear that the Bruins saw something in Studnicka when they drafted him in the 2nd round. That isn’t a place in the draft where you feel comfortable taking a chance on a player.

If Studnicka is able to play well on the top line, this opens up some options for Cassidy and the Bruins. Maybe Pastrnak could be moved to the bottom line and be the winger that David Krejci desperately needs.

One problem that has plagued the Bruins was their lack of depth. They rely too much on their top line for scoring. If they were able to reshuffle their lines due to Studnicka realizing his potential, Boston could have a bevy of quality goal scorers.

So it’s time to see what Studnicka can do on the top line. Hopefully, we will see that the Boston Bruins made a great draft pick and have a young star who will wear the black and gold for many years.
