That is scary for C’s fans and Brown. This type of injury doesn’t go away, it’s simply something that you have to manage. Part of that management is having Brown sit out games.
It looks like Brown’s knee is acting up once again. It seems likely that he sits out Boston’s game against the Wizards as he is having left knee soreness.
But should it be the only game that Brown sits out? Maybe Brown should take advantage of the All-Star break to rest his body.
Why Jaylen Brown needs to sit out All-Star Game and help the Boston Celtics.
Brown has been having an amazing season for the Celtics. He is averaging 25 points along with 5.5 rebounds and four assists. That was good enough to earn his first All-Star nod.
But honestly, the best thing for Brown to do would be sitting out. He needs the extended break to rest his body and prepare for an NBA Finals run.
After Sunday’s matchup, Boston has only two games left before All-Star weekend. Then with the game taking place on March 7th, Boston gets to rest until the 11th.
So ideally if the Celtics could keep Brown out of their final game of the first half of the season and have him sit out of the All-Star game, Brown could get a week straight of rest. With such a condensed that can make a world of difference for a player, especially one who has knee issues.
It definitley won’t be an easy decision for Brown to sit out his first All-Star game. It’s an honor that he has worked so hard for and he finally reached his goal.
But the Celtics need Brown for the long haul. He needs the rest if he wants to hold up for a playoff run.
Part of being a leader is making decisions that could cost you personal success but make the team better. While playing in the All-Star game would be a great opportunity for Brown to show off his skills to the entire basketball world, if he wants to help his team, Brown will make the difficult decision to sit out the game.
