Boston Celtics rumors: Larry Nance Jr. would be perfect addition

As the trade deadline approaches, the Boston Celtics continue to be linked to more and more players. One of the more recent ones could definitley help out the C’s. Larry Nance Jr. would be a great addition to the roster.

Boston has some money to spend thanks to Gordon Hayward and it seems that they could use a boost to their roster if they want to make a championship run. They have won four straight games, but let’s also not forget how poor they were playing just a few weeks ago.

Boston has a solid duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, but they could use one more piece on this current roster. Someone who can be active on the boards and add some depth to Boston’s roster.

So let’s talk about the impact that Larry Nance Jr. could have on the Celtics roster.

Why Larry Nance Jr. would be the perfect addition to the Boston Celtics roster.

Nance seems to check the boxes for all of Boston’s needs. He’s got some size and is a quality shooter. It also helps that he is great at grabbing boards as well.

Last season Nance boasted the best numbers of his career. Nance averaged 10 points and seven rebounds a game.

Nance also is able to use his size and athleticism to get to the rim and blow by defenders. It makes perfect sense that Boston is linked to him.

The question is what will it cost to bring Nance to Boston. Reports indicated that the Cavs would have to be blown away and there have also reportedly been offers surrounding multiple late-first round picks.

While giving up these picks might not seem too bad, Boston could offer an intriguing deal. Instead of giving up all those picks, they could give up one and a recent draft pick such as Grant Williams.

Williams just hasn’t lived up to his potential and seems like he will be a bust. If the Celtics can get rid of him and acquire a player like Nance, that would make the C’s a much better team.

So likely Boston wouldn’t have to give up too much in order to acquire a quality depth player like Nance. He would strengthen the Celtics roster by a lot.

If the Celtics want to make a move this trade deadline season, Larry Nance Jr. seems the best guy to invest in. He adds the depth that you need if you want to win a championship.
