It seemed like the only player that the New England Patriots would have traded was Stephon Gilmore, but now another player seems like he could be on his way out. N’Keal Harry might finally leave New England.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo teams have inquired with New England about trades involving the wideout. That should have Patriots fans ecstatic.

There has been no other way to describe Harry other than a bust. He has been a massive disappointment after getting drafted in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Some were willing to give Harry a pass because Tom Brady was unwilling to trust the wideout, but things didn’t change in 2020. Harry only had 33 catches for 309 yards and two touchdowns.

For a first round pick that isn’t good enough. He even had a QB that was rooting for him.

Cam Newton had plenty of great things to say about Harry. Even in the offseason that has continued.

But there is no time like the present and it might be time to move on from Harry.

Why the Patriots need to move on from N’Keal Harry.

New England is about to undergo a massive transformation. They need to rebuild and get much younger all over the field.

While the Patriots need to focus on finding their QB of the future, wide receiver is also an area they need to focus on. Jakobi Meyers seems like he could eventually be a key part of the offense. New England definitley shouldn’t move on from him.

The same can’t be said for Harry unfortunately. New England needs to recoup some of their losses while they can.

The most likely scenario is that New England gets a draft pick (or two) for the wideout. The Pats can market him as a young player who has potential.

If New England gets a pick or two they can use this to move up in the draft to get the quarterback that they desperately need or they can draft Harry’s replacement.

Drafting another wide receiver in the first round would be a big risk for Bill Belichick. If he misses on another one that would be another stain on what has mostly been an amazing resume.

Belichick and Patriots fans had to watch Tom Brady win a Super Bowl with another team. Maybe he should have re-signed the QB for a year or two.

So now is the perfect time for the Patriots to trade Harry. His value will only go down if they keep him and New England could turn nothing into something depending on what they get back in return for the wideout.

And depending on what that return is, Bill Belichick and the Patriots could look much better headed into the 2021 season.
