Boston Bruins: 7 players who won’t return next season
By Sam Minton
The Boston Bruins were knocked out in the second round of the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs by the New York Islanders so now the offseason begins and it will be a busy one for the B’s.
Getting knocked out in the second round is disappointing to say the least. The Bruins roster is built to compete for championships. The fact that they were knocked out by lesser talent is unacceptable.
So the Bruins have some work to do. They need to improve their roster and make some changes. If they don’t they will be met with disappointment.
When next season arrives, the roster will look much different. While players such as Patrice Bergeron, Charlie McAvoy, Brad Marchand, and David Pastrnak won’t be going anywhere, some players have played their last game for the black and gold.

So let’s take a look at seven players who won’t be returning to Boston next season.
7 Boston Bruins who won’t return next season – Sean Kuraly
2021 was not the best season for Sean Kuraly. The fourth line grinder took a step back and it seems as though Boston has plenty of capable replacements.
In the regular season, Kuraly wasn’t that bad. The center had nine goals and 10 assists in 57 games.
But his performance in the playoffs was the final nail in the coffin for his Bruins career. Kuraly was an absolute no-show.
With Kuraly being a free agent, it seems like Boston won’t be bringing him back. The Bruins have young players such as Trent Frederic or Karson Kuhlman that can take over and the Bruins also acquired Curtis Lazar at the trade deadline.
So while Kuraly was a player that Bruins fans enjoyed watching thanks to his hard hits and willingness to scrap, it seems rather unlikely that he returns to Boston next season.
