The New England Patriots have made a ton of moves and additions this offseason. They re-signed multiple guys, including defenders like Jabrill Peppers and Davon Godchaux over the past week.

Jerod Mayo has decided to keep a few veterans in town as they are reshaping the culture of the team ahead of the 2024 season.

During April's draft, the Pats made it an emphasis to add offensive playmakers. New England nabbed seven offensive players and now with training camp in full swing, another rookie not named Ja'Lynn Polk is turning heads.

Patriots News: Javon Baker Lights up Friday’s Practice

Per Mike Kadlick of CLNS Media, rookie wide receiver Javon Baker couldn't be stopped in Friday's practice. The praise for Baker continued as Taylor Kyles for Patriots CLNS joined Kadlick as they discussed Baker's stellar practice.

"Javon Baker embarrasses people in one-on-ones. Like truly, he dusting pretty much everyone who lines up against him and it's because one the way he runs. He looks, kind of like Isaiah Pacheco, where it looks like stomping the ground and just like pissed off at every blade of grass under his feet. You saw him get a lot of separation consistently. I have yet to see anybody lock him during one-on-ones"

Kyles added that Baker made an acrobatic catch where he got a foot and hip down in the back of the end zone.

Fellow rookie Ja'Lynn Polk has been a consistent weapon over the offseason and now Baker is making his presence felt.

The 2024 fourth-round pick entered the league as a viable deep threat who does a great job tracking deep balls.

Some of these skills have already translated onto the practice field and his latest outing is a huge step in the right direction.

It already appears that Polk will get a solid workload this season. Kendrick Bourne will also be a playmaker out there once he gets back onto the field after suffering a torn ACL last season.

Pop Douglas is another young playmaker to keep an eye on but Baker has emerged lately.

The first preseason game goes down on Aug. 8 against the Carolina Panthers. If Baker continues his positive trajectory in practice and then brings it on the field during the preseason, it will be hard to keep him on the sideline.
