Patriots gridiron news: Jimmy Graham would look good in New England
With NFL free agency on the horizon, potential New England Patriots targets are starting to emerge, including tight end Jimmy Graham.
This is not a rumor or speculation at this point, but wouldn’t Jimmy Graham look good in a New England Patriots uniform alongside Rob Gronkowski?
Former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver and NFL Network analyst Nate Burleson certainly believes so.
When predicting where the free agent tight end would end up, Burleson didn’t just bypass him staying in Seattle or going to New Orleans to play with the Saints, he suggested Graham take his talents to Foxboro, Massachusetts.
His reasoning?
Well, in his opinion, Jimmy Graham could better himself catching the ball from Tom Brady and could have similar success to that of Randy Moss.
"“You’re talking about him linking up with a Hall-of-Famer in Drew Brees and we want to see that combination. I would say linking up with another Hall of Famer and this is where the rich get richer – New England Patriots,” Burleson said. “Any time, there’s an aging player especially running back, wide receiver, or tight end I love seeing them in a New England jersey. It’s just something about them being able to rejuvenate guys’ careers. And it’s one thing to go and know you’re going to play with a Hall of Famer, Tom Brady, but you also go there knowing this could be the best version of me. I’ll take it back to Randy Moss. He line up as a vet in that jersey and put up 23 touchdowns.”"
With Rob Gronkowski contemplating retirement, Graham could be an option as a replacement. The fantasy scenario of them playing together would depend on what type of money Graham is looking for.

In other words, he would have to play for less for a chance of winning a title. Keep in mind he could have that opportunity staying in Seattle, joining the Saints or even another contender like the Denver Broncos (if they solve their quarterback issue).
Last season with the Seahawks, Jimmy Graham had 57 receptions for 520 yards and 10 TDs.
Tom Brady teams up with Michael Strahan
A week after losing Super Bowl LII, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is teaming up with a player who defeated him in a previous Super Bowl matchups.
According TechCrunch, Brady is teaming up with retired New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan to form the startup media company, The Religion of Sports. The two will be joined by Gothram Chopra in a venture that could rival ESPN as they will tell sports-based stories much like that of “Tom vs. Tom” directed by Chopra.
Brady wrote the following to TechCrunch about the imitative:
"“Traditional networks and brands have so much experience and traction in the storytelling space that I see most of them being major leaders for a very long time to come, but I think some new players will definitely continue to push them! In general, I think the most authentic and emotionally engaging storytelling will rise to the top.”"
