It may seem too early to declare a draft pick a bust, but Boston Celtics first-round pick Robert Williams seems to be a waste of a pick.

Boston Celtics fans are quickly realizing why teams passed on Robert Williams. Even though Williams possesses great athleticism and quality defensive skills, he seems to be making all the wrong decisions off the court.

Williams started off his Celtics career by missing his introductory conference call. He has already missed practices and now seems to be incapable of being an adult. In a span of two days, he lost his wallet twice.

Now hand up, I have lost my wallet before, but two times in two days. That must be a world record.

Williams has had a difficult time adjusting to NBA life. He needs to grow up and realize he isn’t in college anymore.

Williams definitely has the talent to make it in the NBA. In his Texas A&M career, he averaged 11.1 points 8.7 rebounds and 2.5 blocks a game.
Williams could be a solid bench player that dominates the post on offense and defense.

Where will Williams end up?

I don’t see any way Williams makes the NBA roster. He has proven in a short amount of time that he doesn’t deserve the spot. Him being injured doesn’t help either.

Williams will have to prove himself in Portland and also prove to the Celtics that he can handle being a professional player.

It seems like he has a lot of work to do.

Robert Williams may end up being a fine player, but from the looks of it, the Boston Celtics wasted their first-round pick this season.
