All great players have to change as their career progresses, and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has changed his attitude later in his career.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wears his emotions on his sleeve. You will see him yell in excitement after a great play or yell at a ref after a late hit. It appears that when it comes to his teammates Brady is taking things slow.

We have seen Brady get upset at players before, but Rob Gronkowski believes that the quarterback has calmed down with age.

"“I’ve seen the same fire from him since I’ve been here,” Gronkowski said after the Patriots’ sixth training camp practice. “I would say probably, back in the day, he was a little bit more on you if you didn’t get it right, a little bit more in your face. But he’s 40 going on 41 now, and it seems like he’s backed off on that a little bit, which is nice. He used to be mean to me. I’m glad he’s not to these young guys anymore.”"

I bet Brady’s teammates appreciate the new, calm approach. We have seen Brady get angry at teammates in practice and in games. Who can forget the famous incident with Brady and Josh McDaniels going back and forth on the sidelines?

More from Chowder and Champions

Brady is entering his 19th season and seems primed for another great season. Last year Brady threw for 4,577 yards and 32 touchdowns.

Brady is one of the most intelligent players to play the game. He reads defenses like a children’s book. You can hear him barking out orders at the line every play. When you have such a smart player, it can lead to some arguments when things get tense.

A peek behind the curtain

Brady’s relationship with the Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick has been the top story in New England for the last year. There were multiple reports of tension in the organization.

If Brady is having a mellow approach to football it bodes well for the Patriots. Maybe he will be able to bury the hatchet and focus on winning football games.

Brady still is one of the most passionate players in the NFL, but his teammates will appreciate him not being in their ear after every dropped ball.
