New England Patriots: What to make of Alex Guerrero flying with team
By Sam Minton
Tom Brady’s trainer Alex Guerrero seemed to be on the New England Patriots blacklist last season. Now Guerrero is flying with the team ahead of their preseason matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Last season it seemed like Alex Guerrero may break up the most dominant duo in the history of the NFL. The New England Patriots seemed to be in turmoil after Guerrero was banned from the sidelines and team flights. Now everything has changed.
On Thursday, Guerrero flew with the team and everything seems to be okay between him and the organization. Tom Brady’s BFF won’t be on the field, but after being banned from team flights it seems that Guerrero is being welcomed back with open arms.
Now Guerrero flying on the team plane may not seem like a big deal, but it may mean that things in New England aren’t as bad as they are made out to be.

Is there even a rift?
The Seth Wickersham article sent a shockwave through New England. He said that the Patriots were headed towards an organizational Armageddon. He was basically screaming from the mountaintops saying that “the end is here” for New England.
One of Wickersham’s main points was that there was a disconnect between the 3 figureheads of the Patriots organization (Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and Robert Kraft).
The news of Guerrero flying with the team makes it seem like everyone is cordial with each other. Guerrero seemed to be driving a wedge between Belichick and Brady. Now he is back in the team’s good graces.
I don’t expect Tom Brady and Bill Belichick to be happy with one another all the time. These guys are the best at what they do and are extremely competitive. Conflict is bound to come up every now and then.
There were rumors that Brady and Belichick’s days were numbered in New England. That may not be true. I think we will be seeing Brady and Belichick dominating for at least a few more years.
The Patriots have been dominant for the last 15 years. They can’t win forever. There will come a day when the Patriots will have to find a new quarterback and a new head coach, but for now, it is still Super Bowl or bust.
