Boston Bruins: Patrice Bergeron aging like a fine wine
By Sam Minton
Patrice Bergeron was named the NHL’s 1st star of the week. The Boston Bruins center seems to continue to get better with age.
There must be something special about the drinking water in Boston. It seems that all athletes get better as they age which is kind of uncommon in sports. We have seen it with Tom Brady and now are seeing it with Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron.
Now Bergeron isn’t a grandpa like Zdeno Chara, but he is getting up there. “Bergy” is 33 and most players would be headed on the decline. It seems that Bergeron is on the way up.
Bergeron is off to an amazing start this season. In 5 games, Bergeron has 5 goals and 6 assists. Bergy leads the Bruins in points and continues to be the glue that holds the B’s together.

The center was rewarded for his great play and was named the NHL’s first star of the week. When you put up the numbers Bergeron is, it would be a travesty to not have him on the list.
It’s going to be a sad day when Patrice Bergeron decides to hang up his skates. He will go down as one of the best players to ever wear black and gold.
Thankfully we won’t have to think about that for a long time. Especially if Bergeron continues to play at such a high level.
If the Bruins want to be successful they need Patrice Bergeron. He is a leader both on and off the ice. The Bruins first line just isn’t the same without him.
If Bergeron continues to score at this rate he will have one of the best seasons of his career. Maybe he will add a Hart Trophy to his trophy cabinet.
Every game Patrice Bergeron reminds you how great he is and that no Bruin will ever wear No.37 again.
