The Boston Celtics open the season this Tuesday against the Philidelphia 76ers in an intriguing NBA opener.

After what seems like forever, Boston Celtics basketball is finally back. The long offseason and countless meaningless exhibition games are over, and it is time to watch games that count.

Mike Gorman and Tommy Heinsohn will continue their legendary duo on commentary, in what should be a season filled with memorable calls.

For the first time in a long time, this Celtics team has legitimate championship aspirations. There is no longer a King standing in the way of the throne, but instead a relatively clear path as they seem to be the new hierarchy in the East.

A stacked roster from top the bottom, the Celtics figure to be not only the best team in the East but challenge Golden State and Houston for the best team in all of the NBA. This, of course, is easier said than done.

The Celtics of course notoriously caught the injury bug last year multiple times, as stars Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward missed much time with serious injuries.

Teams can also drastically improve, and make key acquisitions that put all the pieces in the right place.

The Celtics may seem to have an easy path now, but the NBA landscape is always changing and you have to expect the unexpected.

One team that will definitely try to hinder Bostons title aspirations this year is the Philidelphia 76ers.

Lead by the great tandem of Ben Simmons and Joel Embid, the 76ers seemingly improve every year and have two legitimate stars on their roster. If those two can stay healthy, they can pose a serious threat.

The Celtics get to see first hand what they’re made of Tuesday in the season opener, as Philadelphia comes to town.  It should make for an intense encounter, and there are multiple storylines to watch for.

Here are the top 3 storylines to look out for this season, heading into the Boston Celtics opener against the 76ers.
