New England Patriots were preparing for the worst when Sony Michel went down with an injury but it looks like everything will be okay.

Finally, we can take a deep breath. When Sony Michel went down in the New England Patriots Week 7 game, it didn’t look pretty. Everyone was expecting to hear that Michel was out for the season, but it appears the Patriots dodged a major bullet.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that Michel is considered “week to week.”

If Michel would have been out for the season it would have been a major blow. The Patriots already lost Jeremy Hill and Rex Burkhead. If Michel was forced to sit down for a long time, James White and Kenjon Barner would be the only healthy backs.

Now I have plenty of confidence in James White. He’s a great pass-catching back, but he has never been used as a primary running back.

I think the Patriots should be smart and rest Michel this week. The Buffalo Bills are a terrible team. If the Patriots lose to the Bills they don’t deserve to even make the playoffs.

I would much rather have Michel 100 percent for the Patriots matchup against the Green Bay Packers in Week 9.

Michel had an amazing start to the season. He was running the ball with authority and making defenders miss left and right. Michel was coming off his best game of the season. In Week 6 he ran for over 100 yards and had two touchdowns.

So hopefully the Patriots make the right decision and play it safe with Sony Michel. He doesn’t have the best injury history so you only want him back when he is at 100 percent.

When Sony Michel does return I think he will continue to run all over defenses and be a major part of the New England Patriots offense.
