After a 4-2 victory in Game 2, the Boston Red Sox have a commanding 2-0 lead over the Dodgers as the World Series shifts to Los Angeles this weekend.

The Boston Red Sox are 2 wins away from the ultimate cherry on top by capping off this historic season with a World Series Championship.

Now, these next 2 wins are not going to come easy, as the series shifts to the West Coast, with the Dodgers looking to finally get in the win column in this 2018 World Series.

David Price pitched an absolute gem in Game 2 on Tuesday night, picking up his second win this postseason. The $217 million man went 6 strong innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks, fanning 5 Dodger batters.

More from Chowder and Champions

Price had one hiccup of an inning in the 4th, as he quickly loaded the bases and then surrendered a sac fly to Matt Kemp. Price battled back striking out Kike Hernandez to pick up the second out of the inning. Swinging on the next pitch, Yasiel Puig took a fastball to right field, driving in a run and giving the Dodgers a 2-1 lead. David Price answered with three straight strikes, fanning Austin Barnes and ending the threat.

The Red Sox answered in the 5th inning, continuing their dominance with 2 outs. After Steve Pearce drew a walk with the bases loaded, J.D. Martinez hit a single to shallow right, scoring Mookie Betts and Andrew Benintendi, putting the Sox up 4-2.

Once Boston got the lead, they never looked back. Alex Cora played his cards right with the bullpen, bringing in Joe Kelly, Nathan Eovaldi and Craig Kimbrel for an inning each and shutting the Dodgers down in the process, hanging on for a Game 2 victory.

In the first 2 games of the World Series combined, the Red Sox relief arms have been stellar. The bullpen has allowed 1 earned run in 8 innings for a 1.12 ERA. The Red Sox relievers have also combined for 8 strikeouts and allowed only 3 hits and 1 walk.

Those are elite numbers, nothing anyone expected going into this series, especially with the track record the bullpen carried all season.

Craig Kimbrel has been the most impressive arm out of the pen so far; with 2 innings pitched, allowing no men to reach base and striking out 2, with his 1 save coming in Game 2.

If the pitching staff and bullpen, in particular, continued their dominance, we could have just witnessed the final home game of 2018.

Off to LA

Game 3 is Friday night, with first pitch at 8:09 PM Eastern. The Dodgers look to right the ship, sending rookie Walker Buehler to the mound. The rookie has made 3 starts this Postseason, carrying a 5.40 ERA in 16.2 innings pitched.

Rick Porcello will take the mound for the Red Sox. Pretty Ricky has been efficient in October, carrying a 4.22 ERA in 10.2 innings pitched, with most of his work coming from starts in both the ALDS and ALCS. All the Sox need is a solid 5 or 6 innings and then they can turn it over to the bullpen in hopes of continuing their dominance in this series.

Although a 2-0 lead in the World Series is great, the series is far from over. The Dodgers will be very happy to be back in LA with the nice weather and the fans cheering them on.

With the National League rules, the Red Sox lose the DH; meaning Alex Cora has a very tough decision to make if he wants to keep the bat of J.D. Martinez in the lineup. We will have to keep our eyes peeled to see if Mookie Betts makes the switch to second base.

In the meantime, Red Sox Nation can enjoy the lead and cheer on the boys Friday night as they look to stay perfect on the road this Postseason.

2 more wins. Go Sox.
