The Boston Bruins are losing players left and right. As soon as one player returns, another ends up on the injury report.

The Boston Bruins have had an entire season’s worth of injuries in the first month of the season.

We have seen guys like Charlie McAvoy, Torey Krug, and David Backes miss a lot of time early on in the season. Just when you think it was impossible for another guy to get injured Bruce Cassidy delivers some bad news.

Let’s start with the good news. On Monday, Bruce Cassidy let Bruins fans know that Torey Krug will be returning to the lineup on Tuesday.

More from Chowder and Champions

This is amazing news especially considering the Bruins defensive situation right now. Zdeno Chara and Matt Grzelyck have been relied upon a lot. This is nothing for a veteran like Chara but is a major change in pace for Grzelcyk.

Grzelcyk didn’t struggle playing up a line. I thought he skated well, but he should be on your 3rd defensive pairing, not your 2nd.

With Krug back the Bruins will have an amazing offensive threat and can be relied upon in the Bruins zone. At 27 years old, Krug is one of the veterans on the roster. Having a guy who knows where to be and is coming off his best season in the NHL is definitely a plus.

The bad news

Now to the not so fun part. Yet another Bruins defenseman is injured. Matt Grzelcyk has a lower-body injury and didn’t skate with the team on Monday.

This is disappointing because Grzelcyk has grown a lot as a player so far this season. He has been forced to have a much larger role than he had in his rookie season.

Grzelcyk was patrolling the point on power plays and got some time on the 2nd defensive pairing. Hopefully Grzelcyk won’t be out for long and just needs a few days off. It has already been announced that Grzelcyk is unlikely to play on Tuesday.

Next. Offside challenges are the worst thing in hockey. dark

Can the injuries please stop now? I think the Boston Bruins have had enough.
