Boston Red Sox World Series 2018: The Price is always right
By Sam Minton
With a dominant effort in Game 5, David Price proved to Boston Red Sox fans that he was worth the investment the team made 2 years ago.
The Boston Red Sox’s are World Series champions once again. On Sunday night the team clinched their 9th World Series championship. The Boston Red Sox couldn’t have done it without David Price.
Ever since Price came to Boston he has drawn criticism. Sometimes it is for his play on the field and sometimes it’s for his actions off of it. Red Sox’s nation began to wonder if the spotlight was too big for Price in Boston.
With a dominant performance this postseason it is fair to say that Price will be staying in Boston for a while.

It started in the ALCS when Price clinched the series for the Sox. After struggling in the postseason in prior seasons this was a pleasant sight. Red Sox fans couldn’t even imagine what was yet to come.
Price pitched his best in the World Series and Game 5 was an absolute work of art. He pitched 7 innings only allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 5 batters.
This was the best Price has looked in a long time. The most important thing is that he finally got the monkey off his back and is a World Series champion.
What’s next for Price
David Price will definitely take a victory lap. As he said in his postgame press conference, he has the trump card now. He helped lead the Boston Red Sox to a World Series championship.
The Boston media (and some fans) seemed to hate Price’s attitude and called him out for his lack of production when it mattered. His attitude is still up for debate, but clearly, when the pressure is on, Price steps up.
There is no doubting that David Price was a major part of the Red Sox’s winning the World Series. His story may be the best tale of redemption in the history of baseball. No one could have imagined Price would perform so well in the postseason.
So it’s time to celebrate Boston. The Boston Red Sox are your 2018 World Series champions!
