Rob Gronkowski hasn’t been the Gronk that fans know and love. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the big man walk away from the New England Patriots after this season.

I love Rob Gronkowski. How can you not? He’s a great guy on and off the football field, but his performance this season, and his attitude make you think that Gronk may walk away from the New England Patriots at the end of the season.

Now Gronkowski is still a great tight end, but he isn’t living up to his standards that he set up for himself. It’s Week 9 and he only has 1 touchdown. At the same point last season, Gronkowski had 5 touchdowns.

The big takeaway is that Gronk is struggling to get open. This may be due to physical play by the guys covering him, but Gronkowski doesn’t look like the same player.

Gronkowski is still capable of making big plays. We saw this in Week 9 when he made a beautiful catch down the sideline, but these plays are occurring much less often.

Now Gronk is known for having a personality what seems to be rare for a Patriot to have. He’s always able to make you chuckle when up at the podium.

On Wednesday Gronk wasn’t his usual self at the podium. He was giving quick answers and just seemed down. Is Gronk not enjoying this season?

Obviously, it can be difficult when you aren’t producing like your used to. Gronk used to be Tom Brady’s favorite target. Now that role belongs to James White.

This season has shown just how much injuries have taken a toll on Rob Gronkowski’s career. He may be 29 years old, but he has the body of a 40-year-old. The dude is beat up.

So now every offseason will be a question mark from Rob Gronkowski and I wouldn’t be surprised if he calls it quits after this season.
